Brian Driscoll and the staff of Shamrock Office Solutions believe in the positive impact of sports.
The award-winning company, founded in the Bay Area more than 17 years ago, began doing business with Special Olympics Northern California (SONC) in 2014 and subsequently signed on as a title sponsor of the Walnut Creek Regional Softball Competition that same year.
“We believe strongly in giving back to worthwhile organizations within the community,” said Driscoll, founder/president and CEO of Shamrock. “We have a lot of people on staff, including myself, who love and believe in athletics and the life-lessons that athletics can teach all of us. Special Olympics has grown near and dear to our hearts.”
Now three years later, Shamrock has expanded its involvement with SONC to become the title sponsor for regional basketball tournaments in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and will serve as the presenting sponsor of the 2017 Tri-Valley Bocce Bash in October. Along with sponsoring the events, many of the Shamrock staff get hands-on interaction with the program as volunteers.
“All of our employees that volunteered at that first event, myself and my family included, got so much out of it,” said Driscoll. “We were so inspired by all of the athletes and continue to be inspired at each event. I believe that we get as much or more out of it than the athletes do.”
Shamrock is a full-service office solutions company specializing in providing office equipment, document management and information technology for businesses large and small. Shamrock believes in a customized approach for each business and takes pride in its dedicated customer services practices. The company handles the digital office solutions and IT for Special Olympics Northern California along with a number of notable organizations including St. Mary’s College and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
Driscoll also dedicates his time as a director of the boys basketball Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) program at St. Isidore School, participates as a sponsor and coach in Danville Little League, and as an assistant varsity basketball coach at De La Salle High School. He trusts that the relationship with Special Olympics will continue to expand into the future and looks forward to more competitions, events and athlete successes.
“As our business continues to grow, so does the partnership with Special Olympics and the athletes,” he said. “We feel fortunate to have the opportunity to be involved.”
The 2017 Tri-Valley Bocce Bash, presented by Shamrock, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 5, at Campo di Bocce in Livermore. Participants will enjoy a double-elimination tournament, silent auction and fine Italian food and wine all to benefit SONC.
