2023 SONC Summer Games – SWIMMING, Exelixis



Description

Volunteer Captains: TBD

Venue Directors: Jeff Ruthenberg & Mikey Parissenti

Group: Exelixis

In this venue, there are volunteer positions that require constant movement and others that are sedentary. The pool is outdoors so please make sure to wear a hat, light clothing, comfortable shoes and sunblock. 

THE GAMES WILL GO ON REGARDLESS OF WEATHER – please know that our Games coordinators have plans in place to deal with high temperatures. Constant monitoring and adjustments will be made to deal with issues that may arise.

**Please note that each volunteer must be registered individually for a distinct volunteer slot.**

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

full Saturday 06/24/2023 10:30 AM - 3:00 PM confirmed: 8 - available: 0 Swimming, Sat. PM Day of Event Contacts: TBD Sun protection is essential and sandals are acceptable, though please make sure they are suitable for a pool area. Volunteers will do the following: 1. Timers: sit and/or stand at the end of the pool and time the races with a stopwatch 2. Lane writers: record times from timers on Lane Cards and give to the runners 3. Escorts/Staging: Walk swimmers to the starting blocks and/or to awards, then waiting area. Escorts need are physically active, walking and sometimes carrying swimmers' personal items in crates. 4. Runners - Active job, delivering heat sheets and lane cards from results desks to announcers. Excellent for younger volunteers. 5. Awards: Prepare and present awards with law enforcement officers.
