The Grainger Foundation, an independent private foundation, recently made a $5,000 donation to Special Olympics Northern California (SONC) as part of the Grainger Community Grant Program.
Connor Gritsch, an operations manager for Grainger’s Stockton office, presented the check to longtime Special Olympics athlete Jonathan Sparks and members of SONC’s sports staff. Gritsch is an avid supporter of nonprofit organizations that benefit the community and chose SONC as one of four grant recipients for the year.
Through the Grainger Community Grant Program, the company’s branch/operations managers and distribution center directors identify charitable organizations in their local communities and make grant recommendations to The Grainger Foundation ranging from $5,000 up to $10,000. As a result, The Grainger Foundation had made more than 1,100 grants totaling $6.6 million to a wide variety of organizations in the areas of health and human services, food banks, civic, disaster relief and education through 2016.
The Grainger Foundation was established by the company’s founder, William W. Grainger, in 1949. Learn more at www.grainger.com.
