The Safeway Foundation’s People with Disabilities campaign is currently underway throughout Northern California-area stores, offering the opportunity for shoppers to easily support Special Olympics Northern California (SONC) – among other notable organizations.
The campaign supports more than 20 nonprofits across Northern California, Nevada and Hawaii that are dedicated to supporting individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities – including SONC. It’s easy to get involved! Just select the “donate” button at the counter when you check out with your groceries at Safeway through Monday, July 31.
Many Special Olympics athletes are employees at area Safeway locations; so be sure to look out for them to say hi! Every dollar matters and helps SONC continue to provide year-round sports, school programs and health resources for 21,250 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
