SONC Introduces ‘Health & Fitness @ Home’

June 4, 2020 by Roman

Special Olympics Northern California (SONC) is excited to introduce a new Healthy Athletes® online program – Health & Fitness @ Home – designed to keep thousands of athletes and supporters healthy, fit and engaged while traditional competitions and events are suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

SONC Health & Fitness @ Home is an interactive online program featuring daily activities, exercise videos, health tips, expert advice and more – all with a fun social element. Content will be published daily at 11 a.m. in the SONC Health & Fitness @ Home Facebook Group and will be subsequently linked online via SONC’s YouTube channel. Additional resources, including elevated fitness programs and at-home activities for young children, will be made available, as well.

“Our mission and dedication to individuals with intellectual disabilities remain as strong as ever,” said David Solo, president and CEO of SONC. “Our goal is for no one to feel isolated during these uncertain times. The Health & Fitness @ Home program is an exciting step to keep us all connected and sharing in the spirit of Special Olympics. We are better together.”

SONC Health & Fitness @ Home will officially launch on Monday, March 30, with an interactive webinar.
