Special Olympics Athletes Shine at National Conference

July 4, 2023 by Tyler Krochmal Leave a Comment

Special Olympics Northern California Athlete Leaders Kim and Amanda recently traveled to Orlando, Fla., for the American Academy of Developmental Medicine & Dentistry (AADMD) conference. AADMD is a national coalition of doctors, physicians, dentists, specialists, nurses, etc., who are committed to improving the quality of healthcare for people with intellectual disabilities. Our own Special Smiles Clinical Director Allen Wong serves as the president of AADMD.

Kim and Amanda were both featured in the event program, with photos taken by Rick Guidotti, and had a page dedicated about them and their inspiring stories. Kim served as the emcee for the two-day event, and Amanda recited one of her original poems. We’re so proud of our athletes for representing Northern California and people with disabilities at the national conference!

View the conference website for information about the featured speakers, conference program, and so much more.
