Special Olympics Northern California has made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming Fresno Polar Plunge, Sonoma Polar Plunge, and Santa Cruz Polar Plunge events due to concerns surrounding the spread of the coronavirus and the illness that it causes, COVID-19. The South Lake Tahoe Polar Plunge has been postponed until a later date.
Your health and safety are our top priorities. Due to the evolving situation and considering the advice of Special Olympics, Inc., and the CDC, we have also canceled all Special Olympics competitions, practices, and Healthy Athletes events through March 31, 2020. The decisions were made out of concern for the best interests of our athletes, families, volunteers, and Polar Plunge event participants.
We greatly appreciate your support of Special Olympics and your commitment to the Polar Plunge. The funds that you have raised will positively impact the lives of Special Olympics athletes, both on and off the field. If you have any questions, please contact plunge@sonc.org. Thank you again for your support of Special Olympics.
