United Way Director and Special Olympics volunteer, Lori Ross, was recently honored with a Community Champion award presented by Assemblyman Bill Dodd. Lori was recognized for her passion and dedication helping children, disabled people, and for working to improve the community.
A resident of Yolo county, Lori is the proud parent of Special Olympics athlete Derek Ross who participates in softball, basketball and track & field for Team Woodland. Completing the family and Derek’s cheering section are Lori’s husband Art and second son Zack. In addition to Lori’s responsibilities as the United Way Director, she enjoys being the team mom for the Special Olympics Team Woodland softball team ensuring that all paperwork is completed so that the team can participate in trainings and competitions. Congratulations Lori!
