Hockey & Heart: A Great Day with the San Jose Sharks
Celebrating the San Jose Sharks Foundation’s March Equality campaign, Special Olympics NorCal athletes teamed up for a unique game day experience with SJ Sharks players, along with coaches and sports broadcasters.
The Special Report was on the scene in San Jose to catch the action. NorCal Athlete Leaders Lindsay Mibach and Dashiell Meier interviewed Sharks players Mario Ferraro, Tyler Toffoli, and Ty Dellandrea, Sharks Head Coach Ryan Warsofsky, and Sharks Community Relations Manager Stephanie Dubin Combo. They shared fun personal stories, career highlights and what Special means to them.
The day ended center court with San Jose Sharks Foundation and Kaiser Permanente presenting a Community Assist Grant to further SO NorCal’s mission of creating unified communities where people with and without intellectual disabilities can make connections, develop healthy lifestyles, achieve success, and experience the joy of sports. That’s a score!
