INDIVIDUAL GIVING

Donate

Want to mail us a check? Print out this form and mail with your contribution.

Donate Stock

Your gift of stock can provide you with a great way to support Special Olympics Northern California and our programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Using the stock donation form, simply fill out the name of stock and number of shares to be donated,* and your broker can follow the instructions to wire the shares to our Special Olympics Northern California account.

*After you have sent the information to your broker, please email stock@sonc.org with your name and address along with the date that you transferred the stock and the name of the stock so that we can properly prepare your tax receipt.

Donate through Your Donor Advised Fund

When you make a Donor Advised Fund gift, it is possible that the sponsoring organization will not share your information with us. Please fill out this form when you’ve made your gift so we can thank you and ensure your gift gets to where it is intended.

Donate through your IRA

If you are 70½ or older, you can use your IRA to receive tax relief on giving to charities such as Special Olympics Northern California. You can do so with a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA. The funds are directly transferred from your IRA to Special Olympics Northern California and support our programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities right away! A QCD generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.

Our Tax ID number is 68-0363121

Benefits of an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution:

  • Avoid taxes on transfers up to $100,000 from your IRA to Special Olympics.
  • Satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.
  • Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions.
  • Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts.
  • Help further the mission of Special Olympics.

COMPANY GIVING

Company Matching Employee Gifts

Does your employer offer matching gifts? If so, double your impact.  Once you make your donation, request a matching gift from your company. Many will also match volunteer hours. Check here to see if your company matches. Once you donate, make sure to let your Human Resources or Administrative Department know so they can process the match.

Workplace Giving

Workplace giving is an easy, efficient way employees can make tax-deductible donations to charities they care about through payroll contributions at work. Campaigns are typically hosted annually where employees are giving the opportunity to have a percentage of their paycheck donated to their favorite charity.

Company Giving

Encourage your company to join us as a sponsor! You can directly support our athletes financially and through corporate volunteer opportunities.

SOCIAL GIVING

Fundraise Through Facebook

Use your Facebook page as your own personal fundraising tool for Special Olympics Northern California.  Can’t think of a better birthday gift than giving to Special Olympics?  Set up a Facebook fundraising page and invite your followers to make a donation in your honor to Special Olympics.

SHOP for MERCHANDISE

When you shop, Special Olympics wins!

Shop our online store and support Special Olympics at the same time.  We have a wide variety of merchandise that you can wear with pride.

VOLUNTEER

Donate your time

Athletes are why we exist and volunteers are how we exist.  We are always looking for new volunteers. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and bring with them a variety of talents to share with our athletes. You do not need any experience to be a volunteer, just a willingness to lend a hand, get involved and change a life.
