- Pre-participation medical form data

Donation Information Used for accounting, tracking donations, and thanking donors for their gifts. Donation History includes:
- Name
- Dates of donations
- Amounts of donations
- Payment method
Where and When We Collect Personal Information
You will be asked to provide your personal information when making donations, registering on certain pages of the site, requesting communications from SONC, participating in the social networking aspects of the site and/or in other ways, as described in this Privacy Policy. In addition, we may also collect other technical information.
We Do not Knowingly Collect Information from Children
Our website is intended for a general audience, and we do not knowingly allow, collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 without parent/guardian consent. If you are under 13, do not send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address without parent/guardian consent. In the event we learn that we collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 without parent/guardian consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
Information Security
Special Olympics Northern California has established safeguards to help protect your personal information but cannot guarantee that your PII will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy (for example, as a result of unauthorized acts by third parties that violate applicable law). To protect your privacy, Special Olympics Northern California uses a combination of Passwords and/or Multifactor Authentication (MFA) to verify user identity before granting access or making corrections to any of your personal information. All data is encrypted in storage, and on-line transactions are done securely using SSL (Secure Socket Layer).
Sharing Your Personal Information
Special Olympics Northern California may use your information to: complete your donations; contact you about our on-going work; discuss employment opportunities and ways that you can further support our efforts to support our mission; fulfill your requests for products, programs, and services; communicate with you and respond to your inquiries; conduct research about Special Olympics Northern California programs and services and help offer you additional programs or services that may be of interest. We may also share your information with Special Olympics Inc., other Special Olympics Accredited Programs, volunteer area directors, volunteer coaches, medical professionals and volunteers in health and wellness, so that we may provide requested services or information at the local level. For example, if you are requesting information on local sports opportunities in your area, we may share your e-mail information with the local SONC Volunteer Area Director so they can provide you with the requested information.
In the event that a participant has a medical emergency, personal and health information will be disclosed to medical personnel. Your personal information will also be used to provide you access to the various sections of our website that have been personalized for your needs. Special Olympics Northern California may share or exchange donor names and postal addresses with third parties that oversee our integrated direct marketing program and campaigns. Except in the limited circumstances outlined below, SONC will never intentionally share your e-mail addresses, phone numbers or financial information.
Exceptions to Sharing Personal Information
Special Olympics Northern California reserves the right to share your personal information in certain situations:
- Credit Card Transactions, Electronic Fund Transfers, Payments by Check or Money Order and On-line Transactions: SONC uses third parties to provide credit card, bank, payment and information processing services. If you choose to make a donation online, by phone, through the mail or by other means we will share your personal information with our processing service providers. While we believe these other companies will treat your personal information responsibly, we do not own or control them and cannot guarantee your privacy.
- Background Checks: SONC uses third parties to provide background checks. Such service providers are only authorized to use Personal Information as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements.
Cookies
SONC’s website shall notify website visitors of any cookies used on the website and obtain consent where necessary. A “cookie” is a small piece of data that is sent to your browser from Special Olympics Northern California’s web server and is stored on your computer’s hard drive.
