What to Expect as a Volunteer
As a valued part of the Summer Games Team, we want to make sure you’re supported and appreciated throughout your experience!
Hospitality Tent
All volunteers, coaches, GMT, and Heads of Delegation (HODs) are encouraged to stop by our Hospitality Tent to take a break, cool off, and recharge. Enjoy complimentary snacks, drinks, treats, and shade throughout the day. Located in the Santa Clara University Leavey Center and at Santa Clara High School.
Lunch & Water Provided
All registered volunteers will receive lunch during their shift—no need to pack your own! Water will be available throughout the venue. Please bring a reusable bottle if you have one!
Be Sun-Safe & Dress Smart
Much of the event takes place outdoors. Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and light layers are highly recommended. Be prepared for extended sun exposure. Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes. Some venues may have additional requirements or suggestions, so be sure to check the volunteer instruction email you’ll receive before the event.
Arrival Time & Check-In Info:
Volunteers will check in at the venue where they selected their shift. Each venue may have slightly different logistics, so be sure to review the venue-specific instructions that will be emailed to you prior to the event. That email will include: where to go upon arrival; who to check in with; additional information relevant to your shift and venue. We recommend arriving 5–15 minutes before your scheduled shift.
Need Help During the Event?
Our Venue Leads, GMT members, and on-site staff are here to support you throughout the event. If you have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to ask—or stop by the Information Booth, located near the parking garage at Santa Clara University.
