Special Olympics Northern California’s Summer Games competition is our largest annual tentpole event that features 1,000+ athletes and coaches coming together, through the power of sports, to do something special.

The 2026 Summer Games will welcome athletes from dozens of counties across Northern California to compete in swimming, track & field, bocce and tennis.

Summer Games is a high-visibility, multi-day event showcasing the talent, determination, kindness, and joy of our Special Olympics NorCal community.

Along with competing on the field, the courts, and in the pool, athletes will have the opportunity to try new demonstration sports, participate in free health screenings, join nightly dance parties, and hang with friends, family, and fans.

From the festive Opening Ceremony’s Parade of Athletes to the ceremonial awarding of medals after sports events, Summer Games is a celebration of all abilities and a truly memorable event.

Schedule of Events

All locations at Santa Clara University except the Track & Field competition is hosted at Santa Clara High School.

All events and parking are free and open to the public unless stated otherwise.
